Malaysia 2007 - How to cram one week in 2 days.
Selamat datang!
Day 1: Sunday 17 June, Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur
Coming out of KL Airport we were surprised at how highly modern their airport was – extremely sophisticated with the aero train as well!
The Hotel we stayed at was the Dorsett which was only about 15minutes from the main shopping strip. Being extremely tired Khoa and I wanted to have a few hours rest but only managed to rest for half an hour because our energetic Julie wanted to venture out before dusk fell. We headed out on foot to visit the Petronas Towers and by golly gosh did the humidity really get to me...
We saw the sky tower in the distance and thought we might as well and visit that place, only this time we caught a taxi - thank god because if we walked it would have taken us 2 hours. Later we headed off to Chinatown and walked pass Le Yat Plaza, BB Plaza, and Central Market. For dinner we ate at The Ship renowned for ‘The Best Steak in Town’. It really was THE BEST STEAK!
The night was still young and we thought we'll visit the Petronas towers again because it was glowing.
Day 2 - The big Tour
Khoa and I organised a tour with Sam who chauffeured us around KL to see the best common sights. (Blog courtesy of Hien)
Highlights:
1.King’s palace (took lots of photos with the guards and horses just outside the palace);
2. Chinese Temple (built in 1985 and heaps of turtles in the pond);
3.DFO (Leather & Batik Silk Fabrics);
4.Petrona Twin Towers (photo opportunity);
5.Tallest Flag pole in the world; Islam Lawcourt;
6.National Mosque;
7.Lake Garden (strolled inside the Orchid and Hibiscus gardens)
8. The Batu Caves
At night, we headed off to Chinatown markets to get more souvenirs and had a late dinner at an Indian restaurant called Vegie Hut on Jalan Pintang Road. Shiwa gave amazing service especially when we came in at around 11pm and the place was to close at 11.30pm. We didn’t get out until 12:15am!
